The connection to the 3.5mm jack is weak. The jack needs to be re-wired. The jack plug itself is in tact and could be re-used. Actually my preference would be to try and re-cycle the existing jack if possible, as it has screwthread that enable the secure fitting of a 1/4" jack adapter, which is helpful.
