    When playing any music through the streamer, such as mp3 files on a wireless NAS drive in the same room, the sound intermittently cuts out on the left channel.
    Having isolated the reason for this (it is not the left hand speaker, the amp to which the device is connected, or any of the cables), it appears that the issue is with the Node streamer itself.
    I have contacted Blusound, who suggested that the left hand RCA connector on the unit is dirty, which is why the problem happens intermittently. I cleaned both RCA connectors with isopropyl alcohol, but this hasn’t resolved the issue.
    Blusound did say that if cleaning the connectors did not work, they believe there may be a hardware fault in the preamp stage of the Node. Google suggests that the problem could be caused by aging or failing capacitors within the power supply stage, that degrade after 3–5 years, specifically when left on 24/7. The unit is left on permanently.
