Not sure remote works
Can be used manually by using controls on front of unit. This is a bit of a pain to kneel on floor everytime to try and change volume.
Multi-CD cardridge was repaired by Bose some years ago but I very rarely use it. I just use system for playing sound from TV through auxiliary imput.
The display was dim when last working.
I do not think remote is faulty.
I believe that these can be modified so that they can be used for bluetooth streaming like a modern device.
I have had this system for over 25 years and speakers and subwoofer are still very good.
It is an old system
