I haven’t used my Brennan JB7 for several years. I recently reconnected it to an external amplifier and although it starts up and shows the name of the selected disc (which looks to be playing) there is no sound at all.
This applies both when the unit is connected to an external amplifier and also if connected directly to loudspeakers.
It may be that the problem was caused by a violent thunderstorm which caused significant problems with electrical equipment in several neighbouring properties although none of our other electrical equipment was affected.

As the DVD player sound surround system was around 20yrs old I was surprised that Electronic Partners were able to undertake a repair and give us many more years service of our system meaning no wastage of all the other perfectly good parts such as the speakers. EP also met my need in delaying the return postage until a time that I was able to be at home to receive the DVD player.
