This is an 'under-TV sound-base. Unit turns on and remains on. It responds to all remote control commands, including blue-tooth pairing. The sound output has failed….it no longer makes any sound!
Just before it stopped working, the sound started crackling.
Since this happened, just occasionally it will emit decent sound but only for a very short time before crackling and disappearing again.
The unit is only about 30 months old and has never been abused, either physically or by turning up the volume too much.
Having looked around Google, this would appear to be a common problem with these units.

As the DVD player sound surround system was around 20yrs old I was surprised that Electronic Partners were able to undertake a repair and give us many more years service of our system meaning no wastage of all the other perfectly good parts such as the speakers. EP also met my need in delaying the return postage until a time that I was able to be at home to receive the DVD player.
