Dropped it, when restarted, it no longer booted up, and made a strange noise…(as if the microdrive was busted or grinding), however it now appears the screen might be the issue…as it seems dark, but I could make out vaguely me scrolling up and down some menus…microdrive been swapped out for a 16GB CF card, whereas the PC seems to recognise the device, tried unsuccessfully to load firmware, perhaps it has had its day…or it's the screen. Do you reckon it has had it? Hoping I could restore it..

As the DVD player sound surround system was around 20yrs old I was surprised that Electronic Partners were able to undertake a repair and give us many more years service of our system meaning no wastage of all the other perfectly good parts such as the speakers. EP also met my need in delaying the return postage until a time that I was able to be at home to receive the DVD player.
