        I've purchased a kef home cinema system second hand a couple of days ago and when we tested it, it was all working fine even with volume up, but when the previous owner disconnected the rca cables from the sub, it's hummed very loudly (volume left high and power on). Took it home and now with new rca cable it's still humming. It can be stopped if rca connector moved around, but than no signal going through to the sub. To me it looks like a damaged connector on sub or I don't really know…. Maybe electrical issue, capacitor etc?
