I have a Lenovo Helix s/n R9Z07TV, model 36986CG convertible tablet. I opened the machine, post-warranty, to air clean the noisy fan which had started to show ‘fan error' on boot. That was fine but I damaged a motherboard-screen ribbon lead. I replaced the lead with one from China but still the machine does not start. Is this something you can tackle? I must be honest. I sent it to the original supplier GeTech for repair. Their engineer had a look and thought one or more leads were indeed damaged but could not get the screen to work independently so decided that all they could do would be to replace the motherboard and screen for more than £1,000 plus VAT. The thing is I cannot find a current new machine more suitable to my needs – but can't spend £1,000 on it! What do you think?

My headphones were shipped back to me fully repaired and 2 days ahead of original schedule.
