I was using the hoover and turned it off briefly, a few minutes later I turned it on but it was dead, I checked the motor directly (110v) and that works, there is continuity through the board from live and neutral but no voltage on the live side, I have checked as much as I can with a multi meter but I've gone as far as I can with it, it's a small board with diodes, a capacitor, resistors, transistors and 1 IC.

As the DVD player sound surround system was around 20yrs old I was surprised that Electronic Partners were able to undertake a repair and give us many more years service of our system meaning no wastage of all the other perfectly good parts such as the speakers. EP also met my need in delaying the return postage until a time that I was able to be at home to receive the DVD player.
