Three tracks (less than 1 mm wide) running in parallel all damaged at the same point over 2 mm. Tracks are 1 mm away from each other.
It seems there are two options to repair the board:
Option 1 is to repair the tracks;
Option 2 is to cut them properly and replace each track with a direct wire.I can send a picture if that helps.

EP also met my need in delaying the return postage until a time that I was able to be at home to receive the DVD player.
